Day 1: Chandigarh to Manali (The Gateway to the Mountains)

Your trip begins with a morning pickup from Chandigarh. The drive takes you along the Beas River, through the beautiful Kullu Valley.

• Evening: Arrive in Manali and check in to your hotel. If time permits, visit the local Hadimba Devi Temple or relax at a café in Old Manali.

Day 2: Manali to Kaza via Atal Tunnel & Kunzum Pass

Gear up for an epic road trip. Leaving Manali, you’ll cross the engineering marvel of the Atal Tunnel, entering the stark Lahaul Valley.

• The High Pass: Cross the mighty Kunzum Pass (14,931 ft), where the deity of the pass protects all travellers.

• Arrival: Enter the Spiti Valley and reach Kaza, the administrative hub of the region.

Day 3: Kaza – The "Highest" Villages of the World

Today is dedicated to exploring the wonders of the Spiti Valley.

• Key Monastery: Visit the iconic fortress-like monastery perched on a hilltop.

• Hikkim & Langza: Send a postcard from the World’s Highest Post Office in Hikkim and see the giant Buddha statue overlooking the "Fossil Village" of Langza.

• Komic: Experience the serenity of one of the highest motorable villages in Asia.

Day 4: Kaza to Tabo via Dhankar Monastery

Travel further south into the valley toward the "Ajanta of the Himalayas."

• Dhankar: Stop at Dhankar Monastery, which hangs precariously from a cliff overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers.

• Tabo Monastery: Reach Tabo and explore the ancient mud-brick monastery complex, which dates back to 996 AD and houses priceless murals and statues.

Day 5: Tabo to Manali (Return Journey)

After breakfast, begin the return leg of your journey. Retrace the scenic route back through the rugged terrain of Spiti and the Lahaul Valley.

• Highlight: Enjoy the final views of the cold desert before crossing back through the Atal Tunnel into the lush green landscape of Manali.

• Evening: Enjoy a farewell dinner at Manali Mall Road.

Day 6: Manali to Chandigarh Departure

After breakfast, descend from the mountains and drive back toward Chandigarh.

2. Cash Matters: Only Kaza has an ATM, and it often runs out of cash. Carry enough cash from Manali or Chandigarh.

3. Connectivity: Only BSNL Postpaid works reliably in Spiti. Expect to be "off the grid" for a few days—it’s part of the charm!
