Day-Wise Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Auckland
Arrive at Auckland Airport and transfer to your hotel. Known as the "City of Sails," Auckland is surrounded by water. Spend your evening at the Viaduct Harbour for dinner. Overnight in Auckland.
Day 2: Auckland City & Sky Tower
Morning sightseeing tour of Auckland, including the Harbour Bridge and the Auckland Domain. Visit the Sky Tower for a 360-degree view of the city. Afternoon at leisure for shopping on Queen Street.
Day 3: Auckland to Rotorua (via Waitomo Caves)
Travel south to Rotorua. En route, stop at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves for a boat ride through the starry underground caverns. Arrive in Rotorua, the geothermal heart of the North Island.
Day 4: Rotorua Geothermal Wonders & Culture
Visit Te Puia to see the Pohutu Geyser and boiling mud pools. Explore Agrodome for a world-famous farm show and Rainbow Springs to see the native Kiwi bird. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Maori Hangi feast and cultural performance.
Day 5: Rotorua to Queenstown (Flight)
Transfer to Rotorua Airport for your flight to Queenstown, the "Adventure Capital of the World." Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Enjoy an evening stroll along Lake Wakatipu.
Day 6: Milford Sound Day Cruise
Travel through the scenic Eglinton Valley to Milford Sound. Board a cruise to explore the fiord, featuring cascading waterfalls, sheer cliffs, and local wildlife like dolphins and seals. Return to Queenstown by coach.
Day 7: Queenstown Adventure Day
Free day for adventure activities. Options include the Shotover Jet boat ride, bungee jumping from Kawarau Bridge, or a scenic gondola ride to Skyline Peak for the best views in the country.
Day 8: Arrowtown & Wanaka Highlights
Take a short drive to the historic gold-mining town of Arrowtown. Continue to Lake Wanaka to see the "That Wanaka Tree" and explore Puzzling World. Return to Queenstown for the night.
Day 9: Queenstown to Franz Josef (Glacier Region)
Drive through the rugged Haast Pass, past turquoise lakes and ancient rainforests, arriving at the West Coast glacier region. Depending on weather, take an optional helicopter hike or enjoy the local hot pools.
Day 10: Franz Josef to Christchurch (TranzAlpine Train)
Drive to Greymouth to board the famous TranzAlpine Train. This is one of the world's great train journeys, crossing the Southern Alps into Christchurch. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival.
Day 11: Departure from Christchurch
Brief city tour of Christchurch, including the Botanic Gardens and the Re:START mall area. Transfer to Christchurch International Airport for your flight home.
