Day-Wise Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Edinburgh
Arrive at Edinburgh Airport and transfer to your hotel. Spend your first evening walking along the Royal Mile, the historic heart of the Old Town. Explore the narrow "closes" (alleys) and enjoy a traditional Scottish dinner at a local bistro. Overnight in Edinburgh.
Day 2: Edinburgh Castle & Old Town
Morning visit to Edinburgh Castle, perched on a dormant volcano. Witness the "One O'Clock Gun" and see the Honours of Scotland (Crown Jewels). In the afternoon, explore the New Town’s elegant Georgian architecture and hike up Calton Hill for the most famous panoramic view of the city skyline. Overnight in Edinburgh.
Day 3: Loch Ness & The Highlands Day Trip
Join a full-day guided coach excursion to the Scottish Highlands. Drive through the dramatic scenery of Glencoe, see the peaks of Ben Nevis, and arrive at Loch Ness. Enjoy an optional boat cruise to search for the legendary monster "Nessie" before returning to Edinburgh in the evening. Overnight in Edinburgh.
Day 4: Edinburgh to Glasgow (Scenic Train)
Take a short, frequent train journey (approx. 50 minutes) to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city. After check-in, visit the Glasgow Cathedral and the nearby Necropolis for stunning views. Spend your evening at Buchanan Street, one of the best shopping districts in the UK outside of London. Overnight in Glasgow.
Day 5: Art, Culture & West End
Explore the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which houses everything from fine art to natural history. Afterward, walk through the beautiful University of Glasgow grounds and the trendy West End. In the afternoon, visit the Riverside Museum of Transport. End your trip with a "wee dram" at a local whisky bar. Overnight in Glasgow.
Day 6: Departure from Glasgow
Enjoy a final Scottish breakfast. Depending on your flight time, take a walk through Glasgow Green or visit the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA). Transfer to Glasgow International Airport for your departure flight.
Important Notes for Clients
Weather: Even in summer, Scottish weather is famously changeable. Advise clients to dress in layers and always carry a waterproof jacket.
August Travel: If visiting in August, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival makes the city very crowded and expensive; early booking is essential.
Transport: The train between Edinburgh and Glasgow is very efficient, with departures every 15–30 minutes. No advance reservation is usually required for seat selection.
